We are pleased to announce that Grace and Morris Architects have been appointed by new clients to lead the modernisation of a substantial detached house located in the heart of Harrogate, just a short walk from Harrogate Grammar School. This commission further strengthens our growing reputation as leading Harrogate residential architects, and we are excited to begin work on this transformative project.
The property, a handsome early 20th century house, presents an ideal opportunity to bring contemporary design and functionality to a much-loved family home while retaining its inherent character. The proposed works involve a comprehensive reconfiguration and modernisation across all key levels of the house.
On the ground floor, a new open plan kitchen, living and dining space will form the heart of the home. This intervention will improve spatial flow and natural light, providing a modern family-oriented environment that enhances day-to-day living and supports entertaining. The existing rear extension will be externally reworked with new timber-framed double doors and a built-in window seat, carefully considered to connect the interior with the garden while complementing the existing architectural language.
